At the beginning of the summer I broke my right arm bike riding with my cat, Thumper. Losing my dominant hand affected everything from getting dressed, to making meals, and painting was wiped from the agenda. With a timeline of 4-6 months to heal, I took on the challenge of using my left hand for everything. Sketching included. What came of it was a beautiful surprise. The inability to control my motion created loose lines, producing whimsical, textured sketches.
Most of my healing was spent on the couch, indulging in many soft comforts. One of which were blankets. Limited edition Fauna blankets were a culmination of a sour event turned sweet, one of my most coveted hygge items, and a strong relationship with a 60+ year old US based textile mill that prides themselves on ethical, conscious manufacturing was formed. Those same sketches & that relationship with the textile mill have been carried over into new piece of art - in scarf form!
I'm excited to share my story with you through collectible, luxuriously cozy, soft goods.
I hope you, too, will write chapters of your story enveloped or beside these limited edition throws, scarves, and whatever is to come!
